The 147th Commencement Ceremony

More than 650 graduates and 3,000 family members and friends gathered at Vassar's Outdoor Amphitheater for the college's 147th commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22. In addition to the traditional festivities, the college awarded its first master's degree in nearly a decade and a half. Chip Reid '77 became the first alumnus to give the commencement address, recalling his improbable matriculation at Vassar, and how his Vassar education has served him well in the decades since.
