Vassar is Top Ranked Private College on New York Times' College Access Index

Vassar once again ranked high on the New York Times’ College Access Index, which measures top colleges’ efforts on economic diversity. Vassar ranked first among private colleges and eighth overall. Vassar Hosts New York Conference on Asian Studies

Vassar will host the 2015 New York Conference on Asian Studies on October 16-17. Open to the public, the conference will offer more than 200 presentations, exhibitions, and lectures (including one by chinadialogue editor Liu Jianqiang, pictured) on this year’s theme, “Global Asia: Social, Cultural, and Political Spaces.” Read More …

Clean Energy Initiatives Announced

In a strong move toward clean, renewable energy for its campus, Vassar has announced two new initiatives: a solar farm project and an agreement with a hydroelectric power company. The solar farm will provide 11 percent of the college’s energy needs and the hydropower will provide another 10 percent. Read More …

Studying Cancer-Fighting Antioxidants

Ilaria Costanzini, PhD candidate at the Universita di Modena e Reggio Emilia in Italy, is finishing her doctoral research on antioxidants under the guidance of Vassar chemistry professor Miriam Rossi. Since August, Costanzini has been in Mudd Chemistry analyzing antioxidants that originate from mushrooms. Read More …
