Yale University to Rename College after Grace Hopper ’28

Yale University will rename Calhoun College after computer pioneer and mathematician Grace Hopper ’28. Hopper received her master’s degree and PhD from Yale University before embarking on a career that included developing the COBOL computer language and serving as a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy. Art Center Acquires Rare Religious Artifact

The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center recently acquired a medieval Limoges Eucharistic Dove. The doves, produced between 1215 and 1235, are very rare. In fact, only five museums in the United States have one in their collections: the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the National Gallery of Art; the Walters Art Museum; and the Denver Art Museum.
