2020 Modfest: Broadway Standouts and More

Tony Award-winning actress Celia Keenan-Bolger (To Kill A Mockingbird), pictured, Grammy Award-nominated vocal ensemble New York Polyphony, and Jeff Snyder’s laptop orchestra are among the highlights of this year’s Modfest, Vassar’s annual medley of music, film, dance, and art—opening January 30. Observatory Named for Astronomer Vera Rubin ’48

A large Synoptic Survey Telescope under construction in Chile will be named after the renowned astronomer Vera Rubin ’48, who died in 2016. Rubin is widely credited with helping to unlock the mysteries of dark matter. The Vera C. Rubin Observatory is scheduled to begin operation in 2022. Read More …
