Robert L. Pounder

Professor Emeritus of Classics
(1972–2007)

While working in Greece on my dissertation for Brown, I was appointed to a one-year position in the Vassar classics department in 1972. That post eventually led to almost 50 years of service as teacher and administrator. My scholarship on Greek inscriptions and related subjects somehow enhanced work in the President's Office and the Office of Advancement. Vassar nurtures intellectual growth in its students, administrators  and faculty alike.
