Harrison Shieh

Harrison Shieh is an applied macroeconomist broadly working in the areas of monetary policy, macrofinance, international finance, and the Chinese economy. His research focuses on central bank communications, the transmission of monetary policy, its relationship with financial markets, and the role global value chains play in the transmission of monetary policy. His most recent projects primarily focus on the identification of Chinese monetary policy shocks, tracing the global spillovers of Chinese monetary policy, examining the development and growth of shadow finance in China, as well as exploring Indian monetary policy and financial markets.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Harrison earned (all in economics) his AA from El Camino College, his BA from UC Irvine, his MA from CSU Fullerton, and his PhD from UC Santa Cruz.
