Jan Cameron

Professor of Mathematics and Statistics

Jan Cameron received his AB in philosophy at Kenyon College, his MS in mathematics at Wayne State University, and his PhD in mathematics at Texas A&M University. He has been a member of the department of mathematics and statistics at Vassar College since 2009. His primary area of research is in operator algebras, specifically the structure of von Neumann algebras and C*-algebras associated to groups and group actions. He also has an interest in the mathematics of voting and elections.

Jan Cameron Appointed to NSF’s Division of Mathematical Sciences as Program Director
Jan Cameron, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Statistics, is an assignee of the Intergovernmental Personnel Act Assignment (IPA) program and will serve in the coming year as a Program Director for the Analysis Program within the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS), Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Science Foundation (NSF).
