Nicholas A. de Leeuw

Senior Lecturer in Psychological Science

Nicholas (Nick) de Leeuw has an AB from Vassar college, and expects to shortly have his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a graduate fellow at the Learning Research and Development Center. Mr. de Leeuw’s current research concerns how students reading a scientific text combine the information in that text with knowledge from other sources. This work involves looking at processes of reading and comprehension, scientific reasoning, and mental models. It also involves the methodological issues involved in using verbal data, sometimes known as protocol analysis. Other professional interests include human development, especially infancy and adolescence.
