Tamyka Jordon-Conlin

Tamyka Jordon-Conlin is a music theorist and composer whose research is primarily concerned with intertextuality in music, especially popular music, hip-hop, rap, and Afrofuturism. She earned a BS in Music Education from Southeastern University (2011), and a MM in Music Composition (2015) and PhD in Music Theory from Louisiana State University (2022). Jordon-Conlin previously served at Wiley College as Assistant Professor and was the official accompanist of The A Cappella Choir. In the classroom, she teaches Fundamentals of Music, Music Theory, Post-Tonal Theory, Black Music, and Afrofuturism.
