The Undergraduate Research Summer Institute’s 2023 Symposium showcased the 55 science projects undertaken this summer by 89 students and 33 faculty mentors.
A collection of works by African American artists from the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art kicked off a national tour on September 30 with an opening at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center on the Vassar College campus. The exhibition, titled Silver Linings, highlights the works of masters, pioneers, and trailblazers who anchor the Spelman collection. The nearly 40 works represent a variety of media and techniques including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed-media collage, prints, and photographs.
Vassar has received a grant from the National Science Foundation to purchase a one-million-dollar, state-of-the-art microscope that will significantly enhance faculty and student research opportunities at Vassar and other nearby colleges.

Jen Rubbo, Director of the Environmental Cooperative, has secured a Youth Grant from the City of Poughkeepsie in support of the Cooperative's “Exploring Science” program, which provides outdoor learning experiences to Poughkeepsie K-12 youth at the Vassar Preserve.
