Andrew Lemon
Andrew Y. Lemon is a visiting professor and teaches Introduction to Economics and Law & Economics. He has also taught Microeconomic Theory and Energy Economics at Vassar College. His teaching draws on 16+ years of experience advising clients involved in legal and regulatory proceedings and testifying in federal court as an expert witness.
Previously, Dr. Lemon was a vice president at Compass Lexecon and a principal at Matrix Economics. His consulting work focuses on the economic analysis of competition issues, including antitrust and consumer deception claims. He has extensive experience in matters of class certification, liability, and damages in such industries as energy, transportation, agriculture, automobiles, single-copy magazines, and packaged goods. His economic analysis has been used by the Government of Canada in an international trade dispute being adjudicated before the World Trade Organization.
Dr. Lemon’s research interests include the economics of misleading advertising, law & economics, and sports economics. His published research includes “Rigorous Analysis to Bridge the Inference Gap in Class Certification” (2011) in the Journal of Competition Law & Economics (a peer-reviewed academic journal) and “Using Economics to Identify Common Impact in Antitrust Class Certification” (2011) in the Economics Committee Newsletter of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section.
