Initiatives

The Consortium on Forced Migration, Displacement, and Education awards annual grant funding to new projects, led by individual faculty members or teams of faculty and students at one or more campuses to advance the knowledge and teaching of forced migration. Projects may be generated by Consortium faculty or students, and complement the Consortium‐wide curriculum in Forced Migration.

Q-Center

An example of a faculty-student collaboration is Vassar’s Q-Center. The project is spearheaded by students working with the directors of Vassar’s Q-Center to support youth with forced migration backgrounds in their preparations for New York's Regents exams, as well as for the SAT and ACT examinations. For now, the initiative is concentrating on refugee and forced migrant youth in the Mid-Hudson region.
