Esteban Patricio Argudo Valverde

Assistant Professor of Economics

Professor Argudo is a macroeconomist who joined the Vassar faculty in 2017. A native of Quito, Ecuador, he moved to the U.S. in 2004 to start his college education. He obtained his BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and his PhD in Economics at Indiana University.

Professor Argudo’s research focuses on investigating the implications of different fiscal and monetary policies for economic stabilization and growth in the context of diversity and inequality. His most recent research explores the transmission channels of monetary policy, in particular, the effect of monetary policy on the credit conditions faced by different people in the economy.
