Ford Scholars Program

The Ford Scholars Program at Vassar provides special opportunities for students in the humanities and social sciences to engage in collaborative scholarship with faculty. More than 20 different academic departments and multidisciplinary programs, plus the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, have participated in the program. The Ford Scholars Program allows students to test their own interests in an academic life.

Elizabeth Coonley Faulkner ’24 Senior Thesis Prize

Over 20 years ago, in celebration of its 100th anniversary, the Washington, D.C., Vassar Club developed the Elizabeth Coonley Faulkner ’24 Senior Thesis Prize. The prize is a stipend of between $500 and $1,000 that the club awards annually, through the Committee on Fellowships, to a junior whose senior thesis, essay or project requires the use of research materials located in Washington, D.C., or its nearby suburbs. The prize is awarded in May for use by the recipient between the time of its awarding and the conclusion of his or her senior year. While the club intends that the prize be used to meet expenditures directly related to the thesis, essay, or project, it may otherwise be used entirely as the recipient wishes. The club wishes to receive a copy of the finished work for its archives.
