As Employees Reach Service Milestones, Vassar Says “Thank You”
Every April, Vassar’s Office of Human Resources traditionally hosts a gathering to honor employees who have worked for the college in increments of five years. While the college won’t be able to celebrate in person this year, President Elizabeth Bradley has offered her thanks and congratulations to 183 employees who have provided a total of 3,145 years of service to the college.
“Particularly in this very difficult year of COVID-19, I am profoundly grateful for all of your dedication, creativity, and resourcefulness in making Vassar the very best college it can be,” Bradley said. “You create the culture — the glue — that makes people feel like they belong here. Those of you who have served for several years and even decades, we have so much to learn from you and your contributions are immeasurable. I hope you are as proud as I am of the work we do together every day here to make students' lives better, happier, and more meaningful. We could not do it without you. I send you my very best wishes and much gratitude.”
Seven employees are celebrating 40 years of service this year, and another 11 are completing 35 years. Ten are celebrating 30 years, 23 are completing 25 years, 35 are celebrating 15 years, 24 are celebrating 10 years of service, and 43 are completing five years.
Honorees include 51 faculty members and lecturers, 43 administrators and supervisors, 26 staff members and 63 service employees.
