Redefining American-ness: A Conversational Dinner

This workshop was organized and conducted by Ming Ni ’26 (They/Them) to explore the impact of immigrant identity and its influence on the redefinition of Americaness.
The workshop aimed to delve into the complexities of identity formation and the ways in which individuals navigate the process of assimilation and adaptation to a new culture. Through a series of guided discussions, participants examined the challenges and opportunities that arise from the interplay between their immigrant identities and their sense of American identity. The workshop fostered an inclusive and supportive environment that encouraged participants to share their personal experiences and perspectives. Overall, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for individuals to reflect on their identities and develop a deeper understanding of the ways in which their background shapes their sense of self and belonging.
