Six Recent Grads Earn NSF Research Fellowships

Six Vassar alums have been awarded three-year research fellowships by the National Science Foundation. Recipients are Rena Lee ’20, Stephen Peters-Collaer ’17, Phoebe Reuben ’17, Ellis Thompson ’20, Christopher Triggs ’21, and Jamie Greer ’20.

The NSF’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees in fields within the NSF’s mission. The grants are awarded to students pursuing graduate degrees who have demonstrated their potential for significant achievements in science and engineering.

Lee is pursuing a degree in astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Hawaii. Peters-Collaer is studying ecology at the University of Vermont and State Agricultural College; Reuben is studying ecology at Tulane University; Thompson is conducting research in condensed matter physics at the University of Washington; Triggs is studying the chemistry of materials at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and Greer will pursue a degree in cognitive psychology this fall at Harvard University, where she will be conducting research on memory and emotion.
