Professor of Sociology

Pinar Batur earned her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992. Her books include Global Color Line, edited with Joe Feagin (1999) and White Racism, co-authored with Joe Feagin and Hernan Vera (2001). Her research interests include global racism and anti-racist movements.

High School Students Explore College and a Changing Climate

Climate change and sustainability were the themes of this year’s Exploring College program. Students took a mini-course on the social and economic impacts of climate change, learned about Vassar’s sustainability goals and projects and also got some tips on how to navigate the college application process.
