Sad News: Ryan Wolfe

Dear all,
It is with sadness that I write to let you know that a Campus Safety employee, Officer Ryan Wolfe, who has been on medical leave, passed away on May 17, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Officer Wolfe is survived by his three children—Ava, Ella, and Brandon—and his parents—James and Diane.
Officer Wolfe served in the U. S. Army and Army National Guard. He completed two valiant tours in Iraq and earned a Bronze Star Medal. Following his military retirement, Officer Wolfe continued his service to the nation as the Suicide Prevention Program Manager with the New York National Guard Family Program.
Officer Wolfe had worked at Vassar since March 2022 and was known by all for his kind heart and fun-loving nature. His Vassar colleagues described him as a tremendous addition to their department. He will be missed dearly.
I know you join me in expressing our deepest sympathy to Officer Wolfe’s family, loved ones, and friends. Let us keep them in our thoughts and continue to share memories of Officer Wolfe with each other during this time of tragic loss.
A celebration of Officer Wolfe’s life will be held at Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home in Rhinebeck, New York on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, with calling hours from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.. Officer Wolfe’s obituary and full final service details can be found here. To pay tribute to Officer Wolfe the flag atop Main Building will be lowered to half-staff and remain that way until Tuesday, May 28th.
