Thinking of you

Dear Vassar Community,

I am overcome by the news from Las Vegas, marking the worst mass shooting in our country’s history. What is it like to have one’s world, in an instant, turned upside down? I cannot fathom the pain. How can we make sense of such tragedy? I cannot. I do know that we can offer our compassion, thoughts, and prayers to everyone affected by this tragedy even as we remember the many who are still struggling to survive in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and many other places ravaged by disaster.

As a College, we have reached out to students with family in Las Vegas to offer support and resources. Please talk together and reinvest in the community because at times like this, that is where our strength lies. And know that my door is always open.
