Antisemitic Bias Incident On Campus

Dear all,

I am writing to alert you to a bias event on campus today. Antisemitic posters were put up in multiple buildings. All posters were immediately removed by Safety and Security, and the Bias Incident Response Team was alerted.

I condemn everything about these posters, which were linked to an organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center has reported as spreading antisemitism, neo-Nazism, and white nationalism. This is not who Vassar is, and we will not fall prey to the hateful messages of these posters.

Vassar is a community that embraces diversity and inclusion of all kinds. Today, in particular, we showed our true selves with the ALANA Fest, a time for celebrating our community through life-giving activities including good food, dance, music, a labyrinth, and friendship.

If you need support, please reach out to your house fellow or house advisor, to Dean Alamo, to me, or to the counselor on call at 845-437-5221.

We are still investigating, so if you have information about the posters, please call the CRC (Campus Response Center) at 845-437-5221.

Let's take care of ourselves and each other.
