Passing of Kathy Brown

Dear all,

It is with deep sadness that I inform you that Kathy Brown, Director of Academic Services in the Dean of Faculty Office for 23 years, passed away Wednesday afternoon. During her years of employment, she also earned a Vassar degree, graduating as a History major in 1998. She retired in 2010.

Kathy was known for her compassion and warmth, welcoming newcomers to Vassar, keeping track of faculty lives, and attending to every detail of the many events she organized for the Dean of Faculty Office. She is survived by her son Steven Brown, her daughter Megan Brown (Assistant Director of Web Development in our Office of Communications), and her grandson, Megan's son Max, whom many of you know from his visits to campus. We will keep the community posted on the family’s plans for a memorial service.
