Community Works 2023 Campaign
September 28, 2022
Dear friends and colleagues,
Vassar College faculty, staff, and administrators are about to embark on the 2023 Community Works campaign. Last year, our combined contributions provided over $85,000 to non-profits in our area. Our neighbors in Poughkeepsie often struggle with housing costs, food insecurity, and health concerns and our funds make a difference.
Past recipients have included agencies that work in the areas of hunger relief, homelessness, domestic violence and child abuse prevention, environmental issues, arts in the community, LGBTQ services, and youth empowerment. The recipients are based upon nominations from the Vassar community.
Do you know of a local nonprofit agency that does exceptional work? Community Works at Vassar College is seeking nominations for agencies to benefit from our 2023 campaign. Nominating a group you think should be included in Community Works is easy.
Simply fill out this Google form to nominate a group.
Please note that all eligible organizations must present documentation of their tax-exempt status and adhere to Vassar’s non-discrimination policy in the provision of services and in regard to their staff and volunteers. Religious organizations must have a separate non-profit status for their charitable work and outreach to the community as a whole. The Community Works Committee is made up of faculty, administrators, and staff who will review the nominations and select the recipients. In order to prepare for the campaign, the deadline for nominations is October 21, 2022.
Thank you for all your contributions to the community. If you are interested in joining the Community Works Committee you may e-mail communityworks@vassar.edu.
