The Election
November 6, 2024
Dear all,
Donald Trump has been elected president of the United States.
This has been a polarized and divisive time in our nation’s history. As we move forward, let us be thoughtful about how we support each other and intentional about how we each help to shape the future. Our community thrives when we listen deeply, go to the source, and, ultimately, move forward together.
As I mentioned previously, we have planned spaces where people can convene and process. Our campus community matters; it is where we live every day and where we may find comfort and inspiration. See below for gathering opportunities this week.
- Circles for students will be happening through November 8.
- Circles for staff, administrators, and faculty will be on Zoom on Friday, November 8 from 3:30–5 p.m. Email Amanda Munroe at amunroe@vassar.edu for the Zoom information.
- A community sing will happen today Wednesday, November 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Aula. All are welcome. Contact Religious and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practice (RSLCP) at rsl@vassar.edu with questions.
Our interconnectedness is at the core of our humanity. Let us continue to embrace each other, approach each other with kindness, and commit to learning about each others’ diverse ways of unlocking wisdom and shining light in the world. We believe in the benefits of higher education and remain fully committed to our educational mission and to supporting all students, faculty, and employees.
Thank you,
Elizabeth H. Bradley, President
