Social Work
Susan Feibush Cabranes Saccio ’63 took her historical interest in peoples’ lives and applied many of these lessons to a career in social work: “My perspective on the enduring influences of the past helped to make me a better psychotherapist as I was earning my Masters in Social Work and went on to work as a clinical social worker and therapist for children, adolescents and families for more than twenty-five years. I have always been grateful for my studies in history and in particular, to my two special Vassar mentors, Miss Mildred Campbell and Miss Evalyn Clark. They not only introduced me to the joy of original source material (all in English!) but to the study of history as an important humanitarian pursuit.”
