Sophia Bailey ’26

Women’s Rugby

Vassar defeated the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 24-5, to win the National Collegiate Rugby Division II championship on December 8 in Houston, TX. Leah Dourmashkin ’27 scored a pair of tries, and Jude Robinson ’26 and Sophia Bailey ’26 scored once. With the victory, the Brewers avenged a crushing defeat to Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the 2023 championship final.

Haley Schoenegge ’27

Women’s Indoor Track

Haley Schoenegge ’27 won the mile run at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships on March 15 on the campus of Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. Schoenegge posted a time of 4:47.04. She became the first Vassar student-athlete to win two national championships, having won the NCAA Division III 1,500-meter race at the 2024 Outdoor Championships last May. Schoenegge also earned Second Team All-American honors in the 3,000-meter run, posting a time of 9:46.83.

Women’s Cross Country

Schoenegge finished second overall at the NCAA Division III Championships on November 23 in Terre Haute, IN. She led the team to its best-ever 20th-place finish in the national championship race.

Men’s Soccer

Vassar won the Liberty League Championship with a shootout victory over St. Lawrence University on November 10 and then advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament with a 3-0 win over Rowan University on November 16. Arden Tobolski ’28 scored all three goals.

Women’s Soccer

Cecelia Wager ’27 scored early in the second half against St. Mary’s on November 16 to propel Vassar to its first-ever win in the NCAA Division III tournament.

Julia Harvey ’25

Women’s Basketball

Vassar won its second straight Liberty League Championship on March 2, defeating Ithaca College, 66-53 on the Ithaca (NY) campus. Julia Harvey ’25 scored 22 points and was named the Most Valuable Player of the championships. Tova Gelb ’25 added 19 points, and Sierra McDermed ’26 scored 18.
