Tuesday, Oct. 29 6:30pm

Movement Captured is brought to life by dancers who will present the choreography of Isadora Duncan and Martha Graham, two women at the forefront of modern dance at its inception in America. Classical ballet variations performed by Vassar students complete this program. Introduction by Miriam Mahdaviani (Department of Dance).

Thursday, Nov. 14 5:30pm

Two men are synonymous with modern dance in America, Ted Shawn and Merce Cunningham. Adam Weinert (Department of Dance), acclaimed expert in Ted Shawn’s work, will demonstrate the work created for Shawn’s all male dance company.

Thursday, Dec. 12 5:30pm & 7:30pm

Alaina Wilson, Vassar College ’16, will perform site-specific choreography related to works on view in the galleries.
