Crafted Harmony: Invasive Species Harvest & Wind Chime Workshop

Dec. 7, 2023, 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
Location:

The Environmental Cooperative, 50 Vassar Farm Lane, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603

Come craft with friends before the holidays! We will take a short walk to harvest an invasive species found on the Preserve at Vassar and then spend time using the material to create environmentally friendly, sustainable, and giftable Japanese Knotweed Windchimes. Japanese knotweed is an invasive plant species known for its rapid growth and resilient rhizomes, posing a threat to the Preserve at Vassar’s ecosystems. Help us to harvest and use some of this plant material before the winter weather covers the land for the next season.
