Local human service agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations are invited to pick up free essential goods (clothing, housewares, hygiene items, diapers, school supplies, etc.) in United Way’s donation room at 75 Market Street in Poughkeepsie. Vassar students are invited to volunteer with assisting agency representatives in making selections and helping to load items into their cars.

• Shifts: 9:00–11:00 a.m. and 12:00–2:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do:

• Unpack/organize donations of clothing, housewares, hygiene items, school supplies toys, etc
• Notify helping agencies and schools of these essential items
• Help set up our Day of Sharing events to distribute items to those who need them

Who It Will Help:

• Economically disadvantaged individuals/families in our area
• Persons escaping domestic violence
• Unhoused veterans
• Families recovering from house fires
• Pre-K through college students
