Hannah Gaff, Visiting Assistant Professor of Drama, and core ensemble member of Uplift Physical Theatre, received an Arts Envoy Program Grant, to travel, this past September, to Karachi to perform in the 2023 Pakistan Theatre Festival. The company taught workshops in physical theater and acrobatics and participated in panel discussions. The Pakistan Theatre Festival hosted more than 45 shows in multiple languages. The tour was in partnership with the US Consulate of Karachi and the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, and was generously funded through the Arts Envoy Program. The Arts Envoy Program is a partnership between American Voices and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). It seeks to share the best of the U.S. arts community with the world to foster cross-cultural understanding and collaboration and to demonstrate shared values and aspirations.
