George Balanchine was one of the most influential 20th century choreographers, credited with revolutionizing the look of classical ballet in America. Released in September 2021, this film includes newly discovered archival footage of Balanchine teaching classes and creating new ballets, interviews with some of the dancers most known for working with Balanchine, and rehearsal videos of dancers who carry on his legacy by teaching his ballets around the world. A film for anyone who loves dance and the creative process.
After the screening, the film’s director, Connie Hochman, will lead a discussion and Q&A.
