The History Department and the Women, Feminist, and Queer Studies program are co-sponsoring a remote panel and in-person conversation about the demonstrations that are currently taking place throughout Iran. Questions to be tackled include: “What are women and their allies protesting on the streets of Iran?” “What is the way forward for Iran's women protestors and allies?”

Panelists include:

• Fatemeh Sadeghi, Visiting Digital Scholar in Vassar’s Consortium on Force Migration, Displacement, and Education and UCL’s Institute for Global Prosperity

• Kelly Shannon ’03, Associate Professor of History and the Chastain-Johnston Middle Eastern Studies Distinguished Professor in Peace Studies at Florida Atlantic University

• Kirsten Wesselhoeft, Vassar Assistant Professor of Religion and Director of the Consortium on Forced Migration, Displacement, and Education

The panelists will be online, and Professor and Chair of History Mita Choudhury and Director of Women, Feminist, and Queer Studies Paulina Bren will be moderating.
