Cyberfeminist Performance + Praxis by Mindy Seu and Celine Wong Katzman
Taylor Hall 203
In this two-part lecture, Mindy Seu will present a performative reading of the Cyberfeminism Index followed by Celine Katzman’s introduction to building intersectional feminist, archival, and curatorial frameworks in the contemporary art world.
Mindy Seu is a designer and technologist based in New York City, currently teaching as an Assistant Professor at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts and Critic at Yale School of Art. Her expanded practice involves archival projects, techno-critical writing, performative lectures, and design commissions. Seu’s ongoing Cyberfeminism Index, which gathers three decades of online activism and net art, was commissioned by Rhizome, presented at the New Museum, and awarded a Graham Foundation Grant.
Celine Wong Katzman is an independent curator based in New York and Singapore. She is Co-Director at the School for Poetic Computation, an experimental platform for the study of code, hardware, and theory through lenses of artistic intervention, decolonization, and transformative justice. Previously, she was Curator at Rhizome, where she organized exhibitions, archival accessions, publishing, and public programs. In 2021-2023, she mentored and facilitated Art & Code, an artist residency program at NEW INC, the New Museum's incubator.
