Exhibition Conversation: Digital Pathways to Reproductive Justice
Loeb Art Center
Learn more about the vital intersection of technology and reproductive rights. We will explore the power of digital platforms, from storytelling to the groundbreaking abortion chatbot “Chat with Charley,” which helps people in restrictive states find access to care. Kiana Tipton, Charley’s Digital Director, will discuss user privacy and security measures, highlighting the importance of accessible and confidential support in today’s environment. Aisha Becker-Burrowes, Co-Founder and Co-Director of FEMINIST—the largest women-owned social-first platform with an audience of over 6 million—will share insights on how this digital space has influenced a global audience. Organized in conjunction with the Loeb’s exhibition Reproductive: Health, Fertility, Agency, these dynamic speakers will inspire us to think creatively about solutions in the pursuit of reproductive justice.
As part of our Late Night at the Loeb series, a reception with light refreshments will follow the program and the galleries will remain open until 9 p.m.
Please note: Before choosing to engage with this exhibition and program, please know that it includes references and imagery about menstruation, fertility, pregnancy loss, abortion, birth, and sexuality. Some of the art on view engages with experiences of racial violence underlying the history of the gynecological profession.
Co-sponsored by the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center and the Science, Technology, and Society Program, in celebration of the program’s 50th Anniversary.
