Carolyn Merchant is Distinguished Professor of the Graduate School at the University of California, Berkeley. She has published nine single-authored books and four edited books, including The Death of Nature: Women, Ecology, and the Scientific Revolution, originally issued in 1980 and republished in 1990 and 2020.

This program will be facilitated by Brian Godfrey, Professor of Geography and Director of Urban Studies, and Mary Ann Cunningham, Professor of Geography

Following Professor Merchant’s talk, the Alumnae/i Association of Vassar College (AAVC) will present her with the 2024 AAVC Distinguished Achievement Award.
