From Super-8 film to video games, Peggy Ahwesh has had a unique career pulling apart the concepts, components and celluloid of media, producing installations, films, videos, and digital animation that investigate cultural identity, feminism and genre. Ahwesh’s art practice mixes politics and humor, rigor and levity, absurdity and inexplicability in order to challenge audiences to sit up and engage, to think about media and its role in culture.
