Professor Paulina Bren, Adjunct Professor of Multidisciplinary Studies and Director of Women, Feminist, and Queer Studies on the Pittsburgh Chair in the Humanities, Publishes New Book About Women on Wall Street
Paulina Bren, Adjunct Professor of Multidisciplinary Studies on the Pittsburgh Endowment Chair in the Humanities and Director of the Women, Feminist, and Queer Studies Program, is the author of the recently published, She-Wolves: The Untold History of Women on Wall Street (W.W. Norton). She-Wolves “tells the story of how women infiltrated Wall Street from the swinging sixties to 9/11—starting at a time when “No Ladies” signs hung across the doors of its luncheon clubs and inside its brokerage houses and investment banks.” This “enthralling” book, as described by Publisher’s Weekly, was selected as a Next Big Idea Club Must-Read, one of Lit Hub’s Most Anticipated Books for Fall 2024, and one of Untapped NewYork’s 100 Best Books about New York of all time. Kirkus Reviews has chosen it as one of the best non-fiction books of 2024. She-Wolves is currently in development with Mark Gordon Pictures. Vassar’s Research Committee awarded funding for the publication expenses of this project.
