Leslie Offutt, Associate Professor Emerita of History, was recently honored at the American Historical Association’s 2025 Annual Meeting at a Conference on Latin American History Session entitled Interstitial Spaces of Empire and Resistance in Latin America: A Panel Honoring Leslie Offutt.

This event, organized by Ernesto Capello ’96, Professor of History at Macalester College, and Nancy Appelbaum ’88, Professor of History at Binghamton University, brought together other former students who also studied with Leslie as undergraduates at Vassar and who have gone on to careers as college or university professors in Latin American history: Jane Mangan ’91 (Davidson College), Emily Berquist Soule ’97 (California State University Long Beach), and Kathleen McIntyre ’01 (University of Rhode Island).
