’02 Law Enforcement Trainer: National Organization on Behalf of People With Mental Illness
STS helped me to think broadly and make connections between different fields and concepts. Today I work for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a non-profit advocacy group for people with serious mental illness and their families. From their national office I promote programs that train law enforcement on how to safely and compassionately respond to people experiencing psychiatric crises. I believe that STS was what nurtured in me an interest in human services and non-profit work.
