’05 Environmental Policy Analyst

I transferred to Vassar specifically for the STS program and it ended up being the best decision I could have made. The STS program prepared me for an interdisciplinary career at the intersection of science and policy. The program provided me with the training necessary to understand not only science but also how science can and should be used in decision-making. Both of these are vital skills for effective public policy-making.

Currently, I am a policy analyst with a JD from Northeastern University and an MPH from Tufts University working on chemicals policy issues. My STS experience has greatly shaped the way that I approach my work. It has given me the ability to better understand and analyze complex, multi-disciplinary problems and develop sustainable, long-term solutions to those problems.
